McDonald's will not take over the empty retail unit at Kenilworth Railway Station, the fast food chain has today confirmed.

Reports had surfaced on social media that McDonald's were interested in the shop, after it was announced that the current convener will end his tenure in September.

However, a McDonald's spokesperson said to Kenilworth Nub News today: "We will not be taking the unit in the station."

Warwickshire County Council is still looking for a new manager for the ticket office and retail unit, with an announcement last week that the council would prefer a community group to take over the lease.
