A map showing all the roads where trees have been planted for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee has been produced by a local resident.

Sharon Chrimes has tracked where all the trees from Kenilworth Town Council's 'plant-a-tree' scheme have been placed.

Nearly 200 hardwood trees have been planted across 60 different roads in the town and local villages.

The town council launched the scheme with Smith's Garden Centre as part of the Queen's Green Canopy, a nationwide tree planting initiative.

Burton Green School, Crackley School and St Nicholas' School have also planted clusters of trees, some purchased from the Woodland Trust.

There will also be a special Jubilee tree planted outside Jubilee House in time for the celebrations in June.

Sharon, who lives in Beech Drive and led the initiative with her son, Ashley, said: "I feel very strongly about climate change and the environment - and planting trees is something many of us can do easily.

"It's been fantastic to see so many people getting involved with tree-planting over the winter.

"Hopefully the town can do this every year."
