Organisers of the Kenilworth Carnival are urging as many people to come down and support this weekend as the community event reaches a major milestone.

2026 marks the centenary year of the carnival, and there is a packed schedule across the weekend.

The parade returns on Saturday (June 27) afternoon, and there will be live music, stalls, food and drink and entertainment available in Abbey Fields across the weekend.

The fun fair is also available in the town centre park across the weekend.

Such is the significance of the 100th anniversary year, a Royal Representative - the Deputy Lord Lieutenant - will be in attendance.

And as the "manic" final preparations get underway, organisers said they are full of excitement for the anniversary this weekend.

"As we celebrate the 100th Kenilworth Carnival, we want to take a moment to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout this very special year," Jon Sabin told Nub News.

"To the people of Kenilworth, thank you for your enthusiasm, encouragement, attendance, and community spirit.

"Your support is what makes the carnival such a cherished tradition and helps keep it thriving for future generations.

"To all of our sponsors, volunteers, performers, participants, local businesses, community groups, and partners – thank you for your generosity, dedication, and belief in what the Kenilworth Carnival represents.

"Reaching this incredible milestone would simply not have been possible without you.

"Celebrating 100 years of carnival has been a truly memorable achievement, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who has played a part in making it happen.

"From all of us at Kenilworth Carnival, thank you for helping us make history and for being part of this landmark celebration.

"Here's to the next 100 years!"

As with previous years, the lorries for the parade will form up on Forrest Road at 1.30pm on Saturday, with the judging for best float then taking place.

The 16 floats will then depart at 3pm, taking a lap around Abbey Fields before heading into town, with organisers promising a "really good procession this year".

From 1pm on Saturday there will be 35 stalls in Abbey Fields including food, drinks, charity stalls and more.

The Big Sing will get the music underway, followed by local musician Andrew Longfield, Olly Busks, "friend of the carnival" Chris Johnson and Hanbury Road before REPLAY headline the day.

Then on Sunday, there will be more live music, more stalls and even the dinosaurs courtesy of 'Jurassic Earth' in Abbey Fields.

"We also have The Kenilworth Carnival Grand Draw," Jon continued.

"We have some amazing prizes this year.

"The top prize is a year's free membership at Fitness Worx gym, worth £450.

Special mentions have also been given to MKM Builders, Let it Be Live, Vibe25 radio, Leisure concepts, CVJ Events, Warwick District Council and Mayor of Kenilworth, Cllr Alison Insley.

Thanks were also given to Kenilworth Lions who have donated a "good sum" and also "donate their time at the end of the procession collecting the last coins," every year.

And ahead of a packed weekend of carnival fun, Jon added: "For me personally there is a lot of excitement that we have reached 100 years.

"We think we are the third-longest carnival in the country still running, which is an amazing thing.

"The excitement is definitely there."
