Council planners have given the go-ahead for updated plans for a new 5G mast in Kenilworth.

Icon Tower Infrastructure Limited has been given prior approval for the 30-metre-high structure at Bullimore Wood on Leamington Road.

Five objections had been submitted to the application, raising concerns relating to public health, the ecological impacts, assessment of alternative sites and the impact on character and appearance of the area.

Icon already has approval for a mast at the same site, but its latest submission included some "minor" changes to the access and base to the mast.

Signing off on the application, a Warwick District Council report said: "Having considered the siting and appearance of the mast, it is considered that it would not cause unacceptable harm to the character and appearance of the area and is therefore acceptable."
