Businesses in Oaks Precinct have donated prizes for the The Kenilworth Advent Calendar which is set to raise money for local charities this Christmas.

Announced by Rotary Club of Kenilworth last week, 3,000 copies of the calendar will go on sale at the end of September.

This week businesses in Oaks Precinct have donated prizes including free car MOTs, Sunday lunches for two and new hairstyles along with a 'red letter day'.

Each Kenilworth Advent Calendar has a unique number and throughout advent five prizes will be won every day.

Winners will be announced on social media and on the Kenilworth Nub News website throughout December.

Leslie Huus of Rumours Hair and Beauty said "Once we heard the Rotary Club of Kenilworth had the Advent Calendar idea to raise money for local charities we were happy to get involved.

"It's not often that something new crops up that puts the 'fun' back into 'fundraising', it's a great idea and we're 100 per cent behind it".

Money raised from the project will go to Talisman Theatre, The Myton Hospices, The Kenilworth Centre, The Waverley Centre.

The Rotary Club of Kenilworth is also seeking volunteers who would enjoy working on this and other initiatives.
