A new charity advent calendar has been announced by Rotary Club of Kenilworth some six months ahead of Christmas.
The Kenilworth Advent Calendar was revealed at a press launch at the Kenilworth Centre on Thursday, June 30.
At least 3,000 copies of the calendar will be printed, going on sale in late September, with the money raised all going to local charities.
The Kenilworth Advent Calendar, like all other advent calendars, will have 24 doors on its face, one for each of the 24 days of advent.
What makes it different is that, behind each door, is a list of five exciting prizes which will be distributed to lucky winners.
Each calendar will have a unique number and will be entered into a daily prize draw, with the winning numbers announced on a dedicated website each day.
The results will also be shared by Nub News and Radio Abbey and displayed in Talisman Square.
Prizes have been donated from local businesses, and range from meal vouchers to hair and beauty appointments.
Kenilworth firms have also been instrumental in the design and printing of the calendars, with Emmerson Press, LoudLocal and Abstract Design offering their services for free.
Speaking at the launch on Thursday, club president Malcolm Matthews said: "The support from local business has been truly remarkable.
"Almost everyone we've spoken to has been keen to help, from small independent shops to major businesses such as Emmersons and Abstract Design, without whose help we couldn't have produced the calendar.
"And I must thank LoudLocal for donating their expertise to create a dedicated website, www.kenilworthrotaryadventcalender.co.uk which underpins the whole project."
Money raised from the project will go to Talisman Theatre, The Myton Hospices, The Kenilworth Centre, The Waverley Centre.
The launch of the calendar was also attended by Mayor of Kenilworth Cllr Sam Louden-Cooke who thanked the volunteers involved in the project.
"The people that volunteer their time to things like Rotary make a huge difference, and that is something we see with Kenilworth's own club," she said.
"People involved in Kenilworth Rotary are a fantastic group of individuals who work so hard to be a force for good."
She added: "It is through fantastic initiatives like this that we are able to support other community endeavours.
"This all contributes to gaps that other funding cannot reach and so the Rotary Club work to try and make a difference in alleviating these issues.
"I am really excited by this initiative and I would really like to encourage everyone in Kenilworth to think outside of the box when it comes to their advent calendar purchases this year."
