Kenilworth's Lloyds is set to close next year, the bank has confirmed.

The branch at The Square will shut on 25 February 2025, as the bank axes 45 sites nationwide.

The move is the latest in a series of closures in Kenilworth which has also seen it lose Halifax, HSBC and Barclays.

"Before we close any branch, we look at how our customers are managing their money and using the branch," Lloyds said.

"Most customers are now using our Mobile Banking app, Internet Banking or calling us instead.

"This means they are using branches, including our Kenilworth branch much less.

"Because of this, we'll be closing our Kenilworth branch."

Once the bank shuts at The Square, the town's closest Lloyds will be in Leamington Spa.

The company said transactions at the branch for personal customers are down 47 per cent compared to 2019 and down 57 per cent for businesses.

Just 511 customers reportedly visit in person on a monthly basis.

Warwick's branch is also set to close.
