Kenilworth tea rooms to open new mobile café in Abbey Fields
A Kenilworth café is set to bring hot drinks and snacks to Abbey Fields as it unveils its new coffee van.
The Farthing Gallery and Tea Rooms is moving 'Olive in the Abbey' into the town's main park next to St Nicholas Church.
The mobile café will be heading to the park on Saturday (May 25) from 9am to 5pm and then every day for the next two years.
"After several discussions with the Farthing Gallery team (my backbone!) we decided we'd apply for the tender for the spot in Abbey Fields as it had come up for renewal," explained business owner Kate Greevy.
"Our focus was to spread what we do at The Farthing Gallery into Abbey Fields because why reinvent the wheel?
"We have a solid customer base who have also been so supportive and we wanted to continue our way of working with Olive in the Abbey!
"Our chef from The Butcher's Bar & Bistro will be making fresh sausage rolls and scotch eggs, we'll have fresh cakes and soft serve ice cream plus all your teas, coffees and cold drinks!"
The business will be running a reusable cup scheme where customers can buy a travel mug with a free hot drink and then bring the mug back to receive 10 per cent off their next hot drink.
The offer will be valid at both the Farthing Gallery and at Olive.
They will also have loyalty cards available too.
"Despite the work at Abbey Fields, the park is still very much in use with dog walkers, walking groups, sports, picnics and of course the main park is still open.
"So do pop along and visit us right next to St Nick's church and the car park."
As well as owning the Farthing Gallery and Tea Rooms, and Olive in the Abbey, former teacher Kate also runs the Butcher's Bistro on High Street.
