Coventry and Warwickshire's largest one-day agricultural show will make a triumphant return this week with jubilee celebrations and classic rural entertainment on the cards at its first event for three years.
The Kenilworth Show will make its long-awaited return to the Warwickshire countryside on Saturday, June 4, with an RAF Hurricane flypast, equine events, dog shows, classic cars and jubilee cream tea all part of a packed programme of events on the weekend of the Queen's Platinum jubilee.
The show, which has been running since 1947 and regularly attracts more than 12,000 visitors from across the UK, is heading to a new site on Stoneleigh Park Estate this year with HS2-related works ongoing at its previous location.
The new site is located on Stoneleigh Road, just off the A46 at the exit towards the University of Warwick and Stoneleigh. The showgrounds are on the left-hand side of the road as you enter from the A46.
The show will run from 9am until 5.30pm. Last entry is at 4.30pm. A free shuttle bus will be available on the hour from the Kenilworth Clock Tower from 9am, returning from the show on the half hour up to 5.30pm, while free parking is available to those arriving by car.
This year's show, which sees Rix Oakleys Midlands return for its 11th year as main sponsor, includes more than 100 trade stands featuring artisan food and drink and handmade gifts.
A jubilee-inspired picnic cream tea for two is available to pre-order, and there is set to be an RAF Hurricane Bomber flyover to wow visitors from the skies in a patriotic nod to the Queen.
Classic cars, vintage tractors and modern machinery will all be on show throughout the day, with events such as the gun dog scurry, equine ring events, and the grand parade of livestock.
The Discovery Barn will explore the future of agriculture and sustainability with engaging activities for the next generation.
There will be live music and performing arts in the Village Green and the return of the Inter Hunt Relay, with both of these events supported by Lodders Solicitors.
Charlie Weetman, director of the Kenilworth Show, which is organised by the Kenilworth and District Agricultural Society (KADAS), said: "This is one of the most significant shows in recent memory, not only as it falls on the weekend of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, but due to the monumental team effort that has gone into bringing the Kenilworth Show back in style after three years.
"Our hugely popular rural and countryside attractions will all be in full swing at our new site near Stoneleigh Village, and we have taken precautions to ensure that is a safe and enjoyable day for those making short trips from Coventry and South Warwickshire, and anyone else travelling from further afield.
"It is set to be a massive day for the region's agricultural industry and an unmissable day out for families and visitors of all ages."
Tickets purchased in advance are £15, or £20 on the day, with show guides also available to pre-order. Under 16s go free.
