Kenilworth play area becoming 'destination' for families after refurbishment
By James Smith 24th Apr 2026
Kenilworth councillors have welcomed the reopening of a local play area this spring after months of work on site.
The play area at Castle Farm was closed for around six months before reopening at the start of March.
The play area was due to open late last year but the works were continually put back due to wet weather.
However, since the works were finished, the facility has proved incredibly popular.
"Castle Farm play area which had been delayed for a number of reasons is now open," Cllr Richard Dickson said at last week's Kenilworth Town Council meeting.
"If you ever go down there at any stage, it is proving extraordinarily popular, it has become a play area destination.
"There have been a few problems with needing to increase the frequency of emptying the bins, which has now been addressed.
"It is proving extraordinarily popular."
The play area features a zip-wire, obstacle course, swings, slides and trampolines, plus a wind-up animal sounds board.
The makeover at Castle Farm follows the drawn-out works at Glendale Avenue Park which were completed last year.
Cllr James Kennedy added: "It is good to see the investment that has gone into the play areas in our town."
