A Kenilworth park has been given a much-needed makeover some five years after the project was due to begin.

Glendale Avenue Park has reopened after three weeks of work on site which has seen new play equipment and benches installed.

Works to the park were due to be completed in 2019, but the project has continually been hit by delays.

Works started at the start of February, with Kenilworth's smallest park closed throughout the development.

It is now open again once again.

The refurbishment has been pushed in particular by local councillor Richard Dickson who welcomed the redevelopment "at last".

"The new equipment is installed and available for use by young families," Cllr Dickson said on social media.

"We've been pushing for this action for many years.

"It was first promised in November 2018 by the then district council administration for delivery by May 2019.

"Nearly six years ago .

"Then a new administration in 2023 and still families have had to wait. It's great news - every green space matters!"
