The official reopening of a play area in Kenilworth is "really, really close" but has been delayed by the extended wet weather so far this year.

The refurbishment of the play area at Castle Farm began in September 2025, led by Warwick District Council.

The works were due to be finished at the end of 2025, but the official reopening has been reportedly put back on almost a weekly basis due to the amount of rain there has been in 2026.

Speaking at last week's Kenilworth Town Council meeting, Cllr Kate Dickson told members: "It has been going to open every week since before Christmas but it has rained a lot since then."

The "extensive works" on site include improving the drainage, installing new play equipment, "enhanced safety surfacing" and extra provision for access needs.
