Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.

Traveller Site

A planning application has been submitted to create a new traveller site on the outskirts of Warwick, near the M40.

Philip Brown Associates Limited has put forward a scheme to Warwick District Council (WDC) to turn an agricultural field along Henley Road into a new base for 12 families.

The application says the residents - who now own the site - do not currently have a lawful place to park their caravans, and the new site would allow them a permanent home.

Rip it up Again?

A long section of fence in Kenilworth may have to be removed after district planners said it was "incongruous" and "harmful" to the local area.

Some 156 metres of fence around a patch of land on Crewe Lane was installed in 2022, with a retrospective planning application for it recently submitted to Warwick District Council (WDC).

The plans also included a further 86 metres of metal fencing, all of which would be 1.8 metres high.

New Vets on the Card

Plans to turn a unit at a Kenilworth industrial building into a veterinary clinic have been revealed.

'Kenilworth Vets' has applied for 'Lawful Development Certificate' which would mean it can use the space at the Bridge Works as a vets.

The application to Warwick District Council says the new business would conduct "diagnosis and treatment of injuries and illnesses in animals".
