Kenilworth planning roundup: Talisman Square, A46 and council's new houses
Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.
Talisman Square
Local residents have expressed their "anger and frustration" at the "crazy" news volunteers will have to remove the plants from Talisman Square.
Despite having recently been refused planning permission to redevelop the car park at the town centre shopping area into flats, developer Cobalt Estates has told Friends of Talisman Square (FoTS) it must remove all the planting from the past few years.
Volunteers have already spoken about their "sadness" and "deep regret" following the decision, but now locals have also voiced their opinions.

Council's Comments on Cul-de-Sac
Town councillors have raised concerns about plans to build three new homes in the centre of Kenilworth.
A scheme to build the new houses - on a site where five homes once stood - were put forward at the end of last year, after a previous proposal to develop the site was withdrawn the year before.
The scheme for 'Railing Row' on Warwick Road could see one detached and two semi-detached homes built, each with two bedrooms.
But while the latest scheme says it is in keeping with the site and the nearby St John's conservation area, Kenilworth Town Council has objected to the application.

Stoneleigh Saga
The £38 million works at Stoneleigh Island will not be finished until "later in the year" Warwickshire County Council (WCC) has confirmed.
The major project to build a new bridge and roundabout at the A46 junction was due to be completed in summer 2022, but has been slowed by "various issues" including supply problems.
Last September Nub News reported the project had been given a revised completion date of "winter 2023/24" as a solution to the recent supply issue was found.
However, the local authority has now said this project will not be finished so soon.

Council's New Homes
Warwick District Council's housing company Milverton Homes has this week taken ownership of three of 62 homes at Stoneleigh View.
Construction at the Crewe Lane estate began in 2022, and the homes will now be marketed as private rentals.
Ultimately, 620 homes will be built at Stoneleigh View, where 248 homes will be made available as council houses or sold at social rent levels or as shared ownership.
