Warwick District Council's housing company Milverton Homes has this week taken ownership of four of 62 homes at Stoneleigh View.

Construction at the Crewe Lane estate began in 2022, and the homes will now be marketed as private rentals.

Ultimately, 620 homes will be built at Stoneleigh View, where 248 homes will be made available as council houses or sold at social rent levels or as shared ownership.

Another 62 will be sold by Milverton Homes, with the final 310 sold by Linden Homes and Bovis Homes.

The first tenants took the keys of their council houses in October.

Lisa Barker, chair of Milverton Homes, said: "Our new homes offer those who want to live in our district the opportunity to rent a high quality and energy efficient home with an aim of driving up quality within the private rented sector.

"We very much look forward to welcoming the new tenants into their home."

In 2021 WDC announced it would be investing £60 million to help build 620 homes next to the new Kenilworth School, in a joint project with Countryside Partnerships - which is part of Vistry Group.

Detailed plans for the major estate - which will wrap around the Woodside Hotel and new Kenilworth School - were approved by Warwick District Council in November 2022 despite concerns over sustainability.

Adam Sharpe, managing director of Vistry, South West Midlands, said: "Vistry is delighted to be part of this incredible Joint Venture with Warwick District Council and Milverton Homes at Stoneleigh View.

"Together, we are working at the cutting edge of the zero-carbon agenda in housing by providing energy efficient mixed-tenure homes that meet the needs of the local community."
