Kenilworth planning roundup: £8.3m cost rises, M42 and car showroom
Here are the biggest Kenilworth planning stories from the past week.
The costs of building Kenilworth's two new leisure facilities has increased by nearly £8.3million, a council report has revealed.
The price of demolishing and rebuilding Castle Farm Recreation Centre had been estimated at £9,937,000 last September but will now set Warwick District Council back £14,153,000 - a 42 per cent increase.
Meanwhile the cost of replacing the swimming pools in Abbey Fields has risen 48 per cent from £8,468,000 to £12,550,000.

Timelapse footage shows the moment two new bridges weighing a total of 2,050 tonnes were moved into place as part of a £282million upgrade of the M42.
National Highways is currently building a new junction (5a) "to allow smoother journeys on and off the A45 while also supporting access to Birmingham International Airport and train station".
To create the new junction two new bridges were installed across the M42 earlier this month, with the road closed across the weekend.

A new car showroom and two flats could be built on Farmer Ward Road if plans are approved by Warwick District Council.
The application for the Bridge Works building includes a commercial unit which could be used for hiring, selling, or displaying motor vehicles or some "other appropriate services in a commercial, business or service" use.
The application says the plans will "diversify" the commercial offering of the property.
