Kenilworth planning roundup: Objection to 620 new homes and bungalow's second storey
Below are the key planning applications in Kenilworth recently received or decided on by Warwick District Council.
Objection to 620 new houses
Kenilworth Town Council has objected to a detailed planning application for 620 new houses and a primary school near the Woodside Hotel.
Whilst the outline permission has already been granted, the current application provides far more detail on the layout of the new estate and the design of the properties.
KTC has raised concerns about the environmental standards of the designs, and has pointed to the objections of other authorities.
Prior approval bungalow's extra storey
Prior approval has been granted for a bungalow on Inchbrook Road to have a second storey built.
The new storey must be no higher than 8.77m.
Six different objections had been made to the application. One objection said: "Kenilworth has a lack of bungalows and has an ageing population, a social care system creaking to its limits and clearly a need for bungalows for the older generation that is expanding rapidly."
Extension to join with existing outbuilding
WDC has received an application for a single storey rear extension to a bungalow on Clarkes Avenue.
The extension will see the house combine with an existing outbuilding already in the garden.
