Kenilworth planning roundup: Holiday pod, airport's expansion and new roundabout

Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.
Holiday Pod
A flurry of objections and notes of support have been submitted to the latest plans to keep a holiday igloo in Burton Green.
In December Warwick District Council refused a retrospective application for two holiday igloos on a parcel of land off Hob Lane, saying they harmed the openness of the green belt.
Now a fresh application for just one of the pods - which has already been installed - has been submitted, saying the second pod and a timber cabin will be removed from the plot.
Airport Expansion
Birmingham Airport has applied for permission for more night time flights.
BHX says the growth of the airport post-pandemic has led to the application being submitted to Solihull Council and if no changes are made the West Midlands region could lose out on millions of pounds.
The current arrangement allows for no more than 4,000 flights at night a year.
New Roundabout
Works to build a new roundabout on a busy Kenilworth road are expected to be completed in May 2025, a report to Kenilworth Town Council has revealed.
Warwickshire County Council (WCC) already confirmed to Nub News that the four-arm roundabout on Glasshouse Lane will take at least four months to build.
The new junction, which will also include the entrance to Stansfield Grove, will be built by contractors appointed by the council. Construction was due to start earlier this year, but works have been delayed.
