Kenilworth planning roundup: Battery storage facility, chapel conversion and Kenilworth Lodge
Here are the biggest Kenilworth planning stories from the past week.
Objection to Houses at Kenilworth Lodge
The town council has objected to plans to build two, three-storey houses in the grounds of Kenilworth Lodge.
Councillors said the buildings would be too high compared to others nearby, and said the scheme was inappropriate garden development.
Members at last week's Kenilworth Town Council planning committee meeting also pointed to an objection made by Warwickshire County Council's highways department which said the visibility for cars joining Leamington Road from the houses would not good enough.

'Ironic' Barn Application
The town council has objected to plans to convert a barn near Kenilworth Castle into a two-bedroom house.
Members at last week's Kenilworth Town Council planning committee meeting said the Purlieu Lane scheme was inappropriate in the green belt and raised concerns about increased traffic along the narrow road.
Councillors also pointed out that the applicant had objected to a similar proposal - for a new farm workers dwelling - on the same road in 2016 "based on ensuring the castle and surrounding grounds are not compromised".
-------------
Battery Storage Facility
Plans to build a 49.9MW battery energy storage facility near Kenilworth have been submitted to Warwick District Council.
Flexion Energy Storage UK has applied to build the two acre facility on farm land south of Banner Hill Farm to "play a critical role" in the rollout of renewable energy across the country.
If approved, the scheme will see rows of 2.8metre high battery units installed, with a control room, 'welfare cabin' and transformer compound also built on the the green belt site.

Chapel to Home
A former village chapel can now be turned into a house after prior approval was given by Warwick District Council.
Plans to convert the former Chessetts Wood C of E Church in Lapworth were submitted in June with the application saying the scheme will "retain and respect the character of the existing building".
The Chapel Lane building stopped being a place of worship in the 20th century and was converted to a carpenter's workshop in the 1970's.
