A Kenilworth children's author has announced that her eight book in the Fletcher's Four Seasons series will be published this October.

Written by Julia Rawlinson, this new winter story sees Fletcher help Badger overcome his fear of the dark.

Fletcher and the Stars is the fourth new Fletcher story by Julia Rawlinson and Tiphanie Beeke, following the republication of the first four books.

Publisher Graffeg said the book is "a gentle and uplifting tale" that provides the chance to talk with young readers about their own fears and how they can combat them.

"As Fletcher looks up at the night sky the stars flicker out one by one," it added

"Soon, instead of a starry sparkle, there is nothing. Fletcher discovers a scared badger on his journey to help the stars shine again and encourages him to join the adventure.

"But as he and Badger race through the winter woods, they soon find it's not easy to reach the stars.

"Fletcher and the Stars encourages children to explore nature and provides an insight into some of the creatures that come out during the evening, including owls, badgers and foxes."

Fletcher and the Stars will be released on October 6.
