Kenilworth planning roundup: Cottage to be demolished, Woodside Hotel latest and 'mess' left on busy road
Here are the biggest Kenilworth planning stories from the past week.
Council 'Unable' to Block Hotel's Demolition
Kenilworth Town Council's planning committee has said it is 'unable' to object to plans to knock down the Woodside Hotel.
Councillors said they would be sad to see the Victorian manor house knocked down, but said there was no planning reason to object to the application.
"We have got no reason to object that we can put forward. We are very sorry but we cannot object," said Cllr Michael Coker.

Waitrose Delivery Times
However, the town council has objected to plans that could see Waitrose extend its delivery times.
The Bertie Road store said it needs longer to load its home delivery vans "to enhance the online services offered".
And it wants to have more time to accept deliveries due to the "stress on the logistics and distribution networks".
But KTC members said the supermarket giants had not considered the wider impact on the town and said Waitrose already failed to meet the terms of its current permission.
-------------
Lidl
More shopping news has come from budget supermarket chain Lidl which has revealed that it want to build a store near Kenilworth.
The chain wants to reach 1,100 sites by the end of 2025 and has identified 16 new spots around Coventry and Warwickshire.
Having recently opened a new shop in Warwick, Lidl is also offering rewards to members of the public that help spot new locations.
-------------
'Complete Mess' on Leamington Road
The Mayor of Kenilworth has complained about the 'complete mess' left by tree works on Leamington Road.
And members of the public have complained about long waiting times caused by the temporary traffic lights in place on the road.
-------------
Cottage to be demolished
Warwick District Council has granted permission to demolish and rebuild a house in the Green Belt in Honiley.
Council officers had recommended that the application be refused but councillors said there was nothing inappropriate about the plans.
Cllr James Kennedy (Green, Kenilworth Park Hill) said: "It seems to me that we are getting a much more attractive house than what's there at the moment."
