A Kenilworth mortgage advisor has announced the launch of its own estate agents as the next step in its expansion plans. 

Castle Mortgages, which was launched by Steve McKernan in 2017, has now started its own partnership with global estate agent Keller Williams. 

The Texas-based company now has over 300 associated agents across the UK, meaning Castle Mortgages has a wealth of experience to support the new venture - adding to Steve's own 30 years in the business. 

"Obviously anyone who is applying for a mortgage is also looking for an estate agent, so I can do both," he explained. 

"It goes hand in hand really. 

"Nobody represents the buyer as much as the seller in this industry, but that is the idea with Keller Williams. 

"My old boss used to mock me me saying I was a mortgage advisor not an estate agent, so stop asking people about what they are looking for! 

"But now that is what I will be doing every day."

Whilst Steve will initially be handling the estate agent side of the business himself, the long term ambition for Castle Mortgages is to have a team of ten mortgage advisors and six agents. 

Despite the business expanding Steve said he would not get away from his core values of supporting local and prioritising customer service. 

"The estate agent side is also a good way of attracting good quality advisors who have the same morals and principles as myself," he added. 

"We are not money driven, we are all about being service driven, we like to establish a fiduciary relation with our clients, certainly not one merely based on a transaction. 

"If you give good service you get customers for life." 

It is that ethos that led Castle Mortgages to be nominated at the Midlands Enterprise Awards sponsored by SME. 

"Whilst I don't like to shout about these things, I have to admit that I was on cloud nine when the 'most trusted mortgage broker in Warwickshire' award came through," Steve said.
