Kenilworth Books' well-known window has been decorated to support a local author as the shop reopens this week.

As well as for her literary knowledge, Tamsin Rosewell of Kenilworth Books is well known for her creative and distinctive designs for the shop's front window. The latest of which is in support of author Julia Rawlinson with the release of her latest book 'Fletcher and the Caterpillar'.

Fletcher and the Caterpillar is the fifth book in Julia's 'Fletcher's Four Seasons' children's book series which follow the adventures of easily-confused fox Fletcher.

It was released at the end of March.

Kenilworth Books has reopened this week alongside other non-essential shops as the nation continues to emerge from the third national lockdown.

The shop's latest decorated window reflects the spring theme of book number five, with colourful blossoms and a caterpillar for children to spot bringing attention to a stand of Julia's books behind.

Kenilworth Books has played a significant part in helping Julia continue her series. Alongside selling the books to local customers, it was actually Kenilworth Books which brought independent publishers Graffeg to Julia's attention.

Speaking to Kenilworth Nub News Julia said: "Kenilworth Books are fantastic at supporting local authors and their enthusiasm and knowledge of all things bookish are invaluable. It was thanks to them I found the perfect publisher for Fletcher.

"They've been amazing at getting books to readers during lockdown and it's been a joy celebrating Fletcher and the Caterpillar's launch with them – their springtime blossom-filled window couldn't be more beautiful."

Now reopen, the shop is currently stocking all five books in the Fletcher series, including a number of signed additions.

Tamsin Rosewell said: "We wanted to reopen with a window display that was bright, colourful and summery - and we also wanted it to celebrate local talent. So Julia's latest in her gorgeous Fletcher Fox series, Fletcher and the Caterpillar, was perfect.

"We're so lucky to have her living locally. Books from the five really big publishing houses are available widely and often highly publicised, but we want people to also discover really wonderful, beautiful books they might not otherwise see.

"Reopening has been fantastic, its been extremely busy and there's a real buzz about the place. The best moments are when children come racing in, full of excitement.

"On our opening day we had a small child dancing around outside, hopping from foot to foot, shouting: 'BookshopbookshopbookshopBookshop!' I think many of the adults felt the same way!"
