Over £15,600 has been raised by the Kenilworth Advent Calendar 2023, with all the money set to go to local causes.

Run by Rotary Club of Kenilworth, the initiative has been a major success in its second year with 3,280 calendars sold.

"Christmas and new year are behind us, our treasurer is back in action and the results of the Kenilworth Advent Calendar 2023 fundraiser are now in," the club said.

"We sold 3,280 calendars and raised £15,678, net of expenses, for local causes.

"All the money will be distributed in the course of 2024, beginning with a distribution of £2,000 each to the five charities nominated on the back of the calendar."

Throughout December numbers was drawn - each corresponding to an individual calendar - giving the owner the chance of winning a prize.

Prizes were donated by local businesses, but almost half are yet to be collected.

So now the club is telling people not to throw away their calendars before they check to see if they are a winner (full list of numbers here).

If you've won, or have any questions, please contact Rotary at: [email protected] or, in a pinch, call 07786858897.

Rotary has also been quick to thank the many businesses who have also helped produced the calendar including Abstract Design who did the graphics, Emmerson Press who turned the graphic design into calendars, LoudLocal who developed the website.

And the club has also thanked David Wilkins who gave permission to use his "remarkable photograph" of the Northern Lights behind Kenilworth Castle.
