A man has been charged with attempted murder after another man was stabbed inside a restaurant in Knowle just before Christmas.

On Saturday 23 December, West Midlands Police officers were called to the unnamed restaurant on Station Road to reports of disorder.

A 47-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries, while another was threatened.

Staff detained a 27-year-old man nearby, and he was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder at the scene.

He has now been charged with attempted murder, attempted grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife.

He appeared before Birmingham Magistrates Court last Wednesday (3 January) and was remanded until his next court appearance.
