HS2 and its contractors have been urged to do what they can to reduce the amount of litter being dropped along the A46.
The "disgraceful" volume of rubbish - which includes urine-filled bottles - was discussed at Warwick District Council last year as some 61,900kg of trash was collected from the dual carriageway over two collections in 2025.
Council workers said there has been a "notable increase" in rubbish during works by HS2 and Balfour Beatty Vinci.
Speaking at last week's Kenilworth Town Council meeting, Cllr Richard Dickson again said HS2 is being pressed to do its bit in tackling the problem.
He said: "We raised at [a] meeting [with HS2] the question of the amount of litter which is on the A46.
"There has been a written response back from Balfour Beatty Vinci who expressed a desire to work with councils in reducing the amount of litter which is dropped and the efforts in collecting it."
He continued: "It is not all down to HS2 or BBV contractors but we encourage them to be more proactive in getting the message out as it makes the locality look unwelcoming as well as being bad for the environment and wildlife."
