Funding boost for Kenilworth skatepark renovations
By James Smith 7th Mar 2026
Councillors have welcomed the news of a major funding boost for renovation plans at Kenilworth's skate park.
Kenilworth Town Council has been working towards revamping the Castle Farm facility over a number of years, engaging with local youngsters who use the area on a regular basis.
As plans move forward, the council has now secured an initial £150,000 in funding from its colleagues at Warwick District Council.
Speaking at the most recent KTC meeting, Cllr Andrew Milton said: "There is good news we have secured the earmarking of £150,000 of district council budget towards the renovation of the skate park at Castle Farm.
"That is half the cost that we need.
"At some point there may be a discussion with the CIL group about CIL funds.
"But it is pleasing that we have got a really big chunk of that funding earmarked from the district council.
"That is really good news."
In the summer of 2022 the town council approved a £5,000 spend to start designing the makeover for the skate park.
The council has not confirmed when renovation works will begin.
