Stoneleigh Road will be closed for most of next week, Warwickshire County Council (WCC) has confirmed.

The road around the A46 Stoneleigh Island junction will be closed 24 hours a day from Monday, May 29 until Sunday, June 4.

The council said the closure is need to "safely enable kerbing and surfacing for new road alignment".

The closure will stretch from outside Brooks farm, from Kings Hill Lane to the Dalehouse roundabout.

A diversion route will be in place throughout the week.

The works come as WCC reaches the final stages of its £38 million works at the A46 junction.

Having started in December 2020, the works will see a new roundabout, and bridge built at the site.

The 50mph speed limit remains on the main A46 carriageway, with a 30mph limit in place on Stoneleigh Road - both are expected to run until the works are completed.

The biggest milestone reached so far this year was the installation of the new bridge deck at the end of January.
