Resurfacing teams will be out throughout the night today (December 15) on the A46 following a crash involving a fuel tanker on Saturday.

The dual carriageway was originally closed in both directions yesterday afternoon between the Thickthorn Island and Coventry after "debris and diesel" were left on the road.

Engineers worked through the night on Saturday to get the road reopened, with now just one lane on the northbound carriageway still closed.

But an update from National Highways this afternoon said this will remain the case for "emergency re-surfacing which will be completed overnight this evening".
