Town councillors have welcomed the news that £633,000 is set to be invested at a Kenilworth primary school.

Warwickshire County Council announced the funding for Brambles preschool at Thorns Community Infants School.

The money - which is part of an £8.232 million pot - will be used to build a new "high-quality, modern modular" building.

Speaking at the most recent Kenilworth Town Council meeting, Cllr Richard Dickson welcomed the news.

"The county council has agreed a capital allocation of £633,000 to build a new early years provision for Brambles preschool at Thorns, which is good news," he said.

"I know a number of families use that from across the town, that is good.

"It is due to be completed in the next two years - that's what they say."
