Councillors still waiting for answers on predicted parking problems at Abbey Fields

Councillors continue to push for reassurances that parking problems will not mar the opening of Kenilworth's new swimming pools.
Warwick District Council announced a few weeks ago that construction of the new Abbey Fields leisure centre is nearing its latter stages, with the facility due to open this summer.
However, colleagues at Kenilworth Town Council continue to ask questions about how parking at the town centre site will be managed, and have now been asking for several months for more details.
Speaking at last week's town council meeting, Cllr Richard Dickson said: "If you go into Abbey Fields you will see a lot more than you could a month ago, which is good.
"We are still awaiting clarification from the district council as to what plans they might have to mitigate problems with car parking which might undermine the success of the pools.
"Obviously learning from the lessons at Castle Farm."
Town councillors have already pointed out fears around parking at Abbey Fields were raised and quashed at the planning stage before the new swimming pools were signed off.
The district council recently discussed its proposed new parking strategy for the towns in the area, but it did not contain any great detail on the future of Abbey Fields.
