Cabinet backs near £9m investment in Warwickshire bus services

Nearly £9 million is set to be invested in bus services across Warwickshire.
Warwickshire County Council signed off on the spend which comes through funding from the Department for Transport.
The local authority said the money will help finance its new bus improvement plan.
Cllr George Finch, interim leader of Warwickshire County Council, said: "We are delighted to secure this significant funding from the Department for Transport, which underscores our commitment to delivering a modern, reliable, and accessible bus network for Warwickshire.
"This investment will enable us to continue improving bus infrastructure, enhance services, and encourage more people to choose sustainable travel options. We've been proactive in addressing challenges by reallocating funds to critical capital projects, ensuring every penny works hard for our residents."
Improvements to services will include real time information, improved ticketing, bus stop improvements, marketing the current £3 national bus fare cap and looking into "prioritised bus measures" for changes in Leamington, Rugby and Nuneaton town centre.
