The building home to a popular Kenilworth café has been put up for sale for £450,000.

Number 40 Castle Hill - where Time for Tea is based - is on the market with property agent Shepherd Commercial.

As well as the popular eatery, the building also has a two-storey apartment above, which the brochure says has "potential for significant reversion and splitting".

The agent's description simply adds: "Set within a row of local businesses, 40 Castle Hill is comprised of a 620sqft retail unit along with a two-storey duplex living accommodation above.

"The living accommodation is not self contained and access is through the internal retail premise."

Time for Tea - which remains open and will do so if the building is sold - recently celebrated its first anniversary since being taken over by Owen Prosser-Stock.

After getting the keys last August, Owen wasted no time in getting customers in - with the venue only closed on the Monday as usual after he took over.

Since then, he has gradually redecorated inside and out over the months.

Having not initially changed the name, he is working towards rebranding as 'No.40 Old Town' once he "gets off his bum" to submit a planning application.

Owen has also introduced a host of popular community events and says he has more in the pipeline.
