A bucket full of drowned mice was found by officers from Kenilworth and Warwick Rural Police this morning.

Officers were on patrol in Hunningham when they found the bucket discarded on the side of the road.

Inside was a plastic bag filled with water and the drowned animals.

Officials from Warwick District Council were called to deal with the find, in case the water had been poisoned.

A police statement said: "Whilst on patrol this morning in Hunningham, a bucket was fly-tipped at the side of the road which was full of drowned dead mice.

"It was a bizarre thing to find.

"WDC was called immediately to collect as there was concern if there was any poison in the water or the mice had been poisoned."
