A Balsall Common pub's beer garden has been included in a list of the top 50 outdoor drinking spots in the UK.

The White Horse on Kenilworth Road has been included in the exclusive list by online guide DesignMyNight.

The Wells & Co inn is the only local venue to make the top 50 which claims to celebrate "stunning views and secret spots to crisp cold pints in the sunshine".

"Found on the outskirts of Coventry in Balsall Common, White Horse is a stunning old-meets-new pub where sunny days are on the agenda (British weather dependent, of course)," the listing says.

"These guys have a glorious expanse of garden complete with lush grass, picnic tables and a patio complete with a pergola."

The list is not ranked, and the next closest venue to the White Horse is The Distillery in Birmingham.

The White Horse's beer garden was given a major boost in 2022 when the pub received a major makeover inside and out.

Having closed for two months, the pub also introduced a new menu after reopening.

While it has since caused controversy with a licence application to extend its opening hours, the White Horse's new look has proved popular with locals since.
