A chain pub in Kenilworth has closed this week.

The Abbey Field on High Street closed on November 2.

The eatery was part of the Chef & Brewer group, which is owned by Greene King.

The hospitality giant said it was a "difficult decision" to close the pub, which is has also decided to sell.

The business has promised an "exciting new chapter" under new owners, who are yet to be confirmed.

A Greene King spokesperson said: "After exploring all the options available to us, we have made the difficult decision to sell the Abbey Field in Kenilworth.

"We understand the important role that pubs play within local communities, and we can confirm that the Abbey Field is set to transfer to new ownership in November to ensure the venue has the best chance to thrive moving forwards."

In a statement last week, the pub said it will reopen in summer 2027.
