A Balsall Common pub is under fire from its neighbours who have branded its new opening hours as "horrendous".
The White Horse on Kenilworth Road has been permitted to play live music until 1am despite locals warning of "huge consequences" for them and their children.
The White Horse is fresh from a refurbishment that saw it close for two months earlier this year.
Now open and ready for business again, it has been granted permission to sell alcohol between 10am and midnight from Sunday to Thursday, and from 10am to 1am on Fridays and Saturdays.
Crucially for neighbours though, the pub also has permission to play live music during the same hours, meaning bands could play until the early hours at weekends.
Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council approved the opening times last week despite being told they were "totally unacceptable" by locals.
The council received a total of 23 objections to the pub's application - the majority of which came from residents of Kenilworth Road.
One local wrote: "This application will have huge consequences to the residents of Kenilworth Road.
"Staying open until that time will inevitably mean an increase in anti-social behaviour from drunken customers of the pub. This is a very worrying development for residents of the street – I urge you to turn the application down."
Another feared for their child's education: "The noise created from the White Horse would impact my family's sleep at a critical stage of my child's education and development.
"As a parent, I cannot allow my child to go to school tired. Also, the loitering of people would be a concern – there seems to be no local police present in the village."
One neighbour went as far as to say they were "horrified" to see the application, while another pleaded with the council to see it from the residents' perspective.
They said: "Extended opening hours like these along with loud live music will bring drunkenness, public nuisance, noise and the potential for crime and disorder.
"This must be avoided at all costs," they continued. "There is also a concern for public safety and the protection of children from harm if they were to be taken by parents.
"Drunk drivers would be a real likelihood along with the regulatory wheel spinning, revving of engines and road racing, all of which would make our lives a misery."
However, West Midlands Police said it had no objections other than CCTV to be installed, maintained and operated to their standards.
A final condition of the licence is that the outside area will not be used for anything other than smoking after 11pm.
