Almost £1 million has been knocked off the asking price for a Kenilworth hotel which has been on sale for over a year.
The Woodside Hotel, on Glasshouse Lane, was first put on the market in October 2020 for £4.95 million with Knight Frank.
The estate agent is now listing the hotel for £4 million as it remains unsold.
The Woodside has been owned by the Sundial Group for over 60 years before the company went into administration in February 2021.
Its other hotel, Highgate House in Northamptonshire, was also put on the market at the end of last year, for £6.5 million. This remains the guide price on the Knights Frank website.
The Sundial Group was criticised after going into administration as customers with events booked had received no formal acknowledgement that they would not take place, whilst the company's website displayed a notice about the administration.
The 74-bedroom Victorian mansion house had posted a turnover of over £2.3 million to year end 2019.
However a spokesperson for administrators Grant Thornton UK LLP told Kenilworth Nub News in March 2021: "The businesses have been heavily impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, with the hotels being closed during the current lockdown period."
The land behind the hotel is set to be developed into houses, with an application for 620 homes and a primary school already accepted by Warwick District Council.
Kenilworth Nub News has contacted Knight Frank for comment regarding the sale of the Woodside Hotel.
