Latest update for £38m A46 Stoneleigh Island redevelopment

The latest update on the £38 million A46 Stoneleigh Island works has been released by Warwickshire County Council.
Having started in December 2020, the works will continue until at least summer 2022 and will see a new roundabout, and bridge built at the site.
Since the last update the earthworks for the Northbound on slip have been completed and the foundations for the actual road are now underway.
As too are foundations for the southbound off slip.
A Vodaphone communications cable which runs along the A46 is having to be moved, so three-way off-peak traffic lights have been installed to allow the work to take place.
Construction of the new bridge has already begun. This will see 30 7.5m piles driven into the ground along Finham Brook to make the foundations.
WCC is also now predicting that the 50mph speed limit and narrow lanes around the junction will only be in place for six months.
Kerbing on the new slip roads is due to begin this month also.
