Four people have died and 21 have been left seriously injured after road accidents in Warwickshire in the last month.

Warwickshire Police has said that accidents have increased to coincide with "an increase in traffic flow with restrictions easing."

Incidents recorded between June 1 and July 9 have left police with concerns that "numbers are rising back to pre-Covid levels."

Whilst some collisions are simple 'damage only' where drivers have failed to look properly, others are much more serious.

Kenilworth residents have raised concerns over road safety in recent weeks, with a petition for a new 20mph speed zone submitted to Warwickshire County Council earlier this month.

WCC has also launched an investigation started into the possibility of new 20mph speed limits in built up areas.

Sergeant Shaun Bridle said "Whilst the investigations into these collisions are ongoing we are taking the opportunity now to remind drivers to please always take your time, and look properly before completing a manoeuvre.

"Please drive at an appropriate speed within the speed limit and look out for other road users especially at junctions."
