Kenilworth Lions has announced the details of the rearranged Boxing Day duck race, which will now take place on New Year's Day (January 1 2022).

The annual event was cancelled on Christmas Day by the organisers because the "river was deemed unsafe".

However, plans were already in place to rearrange the race for New Year's Day if needs be.

The race will now begin at 11.45am on Saturday, with the new corporate duck race getting the event underway.

The 18 larger decoy ducks, all decorated by their business sponsors, will be launched first and the winning duck will receive £760 to be donated to a charity of that business' choice.

Then at 12pm Mayor of Kenilworth Cllr Peter Jones will launch the 1,500 smaller plastic ducks into the course for the main race.

Prizes of £100, £75, £25 will be awarded to the 'owners' of the first three ducks

Tickets will be on sale for the remaining ducks in Abbey Fields before the race.
