Warwick Arts Centre has announced the details of its 2021 CHANGE festival

Warwick Arts Centre will host a three-day festival this November all about tackling climate change.

Running from Friday 5 to Sunday 7 November the CHANGE festival will replace graphs of carbon levels and maps of rising seas with real world stories and experiences of the climate emergency.

The three-day event features a variety of free and ticketed activities that consider the climate emergency with an uplifting energy.

Instead of overwhelming people with facts, the festival's theme, 'Rise Up', reflects a narrative of hope, exploring the seriousness of our current situation through music, theatre, cabaret, family shows, discussions, workshops and live podcasts.

The result - more action and better mental health.

Highlights include:

- Nevergreen (premiere) - a theatre show based on the story of the late writer Rachel Carson (Silent Spring) as a reluctant pioneer who charted the devastating consequences of chemicals on the natural world.

- Satish Kumar, a lifelong activist, former monk, founder of Resurgence magazine, leading a large-scale workshop supporting participants to explore unique ways to each make a difference, sharing stories, challenges and triumphs.

- Oh, The Things We're For by Innosanto Nagara and Orchestra For The Earth combining Beethoven's Septet with a stirring poem and imagery to celebrate children's commitment to social and environmental justice.

- Musician Cosmo Sheldrake, sharing his album comprising recordings of endangered birds, field recordings and natural soundscapes.

- Amazon Visions, theatre-maker José Navarro working with an exquisite cast of hand-made puppets to enact the region's intricate links to the global ecosystem and the indigenous people who care for it.

- Other highlights include Meet Me A Tree, an interactive opera for 0-2 years-olds, a giant roaming tortoise puppet, and appearances from leading activists and writers.
