The annual Bonfire Night Fireworks Gala at Kenilworth Castle has been cancelled for the second year in a row.

Organised by Kenilworth Round Table, the event has been delayed until November 5 2022.

2021's event has been cancelled due to ongoing fears about local Covid-19 case levels.

A statement from the group said: "The peak of the Covid-19 pandemic is hopefully well behind us but it continues to create uncertainty, especially as Autumn/Winter approaches.

"Whilst the risks of transmission from mass outdoor gatherings are relatively low, it is still a risk during this period and may create non-essential additional pressures on public health and infrastructure services."

The fireworks night is one of the major fundraising events of the year for Kenilworth Round Table, with the money raised normally being used to help fund local initiatives and charities.

The event, like many others, was cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic. However, the round table was still able to host its annual Santa Sleigh Ride last December.

However, a JustGiving page is available for Kenilworth residents to still make donations.
