Kenilworth welcome Warwickshire rivals Nuneaton RFC to Glasshouse Lane on Saturday, for the first time ever in a league encounter, with county bragging rights up for grabs.

With last season's Warwickshire Cup Final still fresh in the mind - when the team from North Warwickshire edged a nip and tuck wrestle in the last minute of the game - the boys in blue and gold will be aiming to redress the balance as they continue their Regional One (Midlands) campaign.

Head player/coach, Phil Boulton, was upbeat about the coming weekend: "Our last home game proved to be a good barometer about where we are as a squad, running one of the early season favourites, Syston, close but ultimately losing out by a single point. The boys are really putting the work in in training and it's been another positive week, with each passing week showing an improvement in our structure, gameplay and overall brand of rugby.

"Saturday offers a huge opportunity as we come up against Nuneaton, who have traditionally been one of, if not the, strongest teams in the County.

"The cup final last season hurt, and this is a chance to try and put that right to a certain degree.

"As always, we ask that as many of the #kenfamily as possible come down and get behind us. These are the games where the fans really do need to be our extra man."

Kick-off is at 3pm at Glasshouse Lane, where there will also be food by local caterer and supplier of succulent gourmet burgers, Jimmys Foods.

The Mens 2nd XV make the reverse trip down the M69, to take on Burbage RFC in a Counties 2 Midflands West (South) encounter. Kick off 3pm.
