Kenilworth pulled off a stunning last over win over Hampton & Solihull to boost their Warwickshire County Cricket League Division One survival hopes.

The Town's openers, Joe Atkinson and Dan Horner, put on a massive 216 runs together for the side's first wicket as they chased down Hampton & Solihull's 299 for seven.

Atkinson was first out in the 38th over after hitting 86 while Horner went on to make a sublime 116, falling shortly afterwards.

The side still required 84 runs off 73 balls and Stuart Cope chipped in with a run-a-ball 16, whilst in form teenager Shyaan Imam then made 21 from 14 balls and Steve Rhodes hit 19 from his 11 balls faced.

Just four runs were required from the final over of the match from Nissar who had taken all six wickets for Hampton.

The Town's number eight, Sandeep Kumar, held firm hitting two runs off the first ball of the over and then stroked the ball to the boundary from the next delivery to give the side the win as they reached 302 for six with four balls of the match remaining.

Earlier, after recovering from nine for two, Hampton's Din hit 97, Palmer 68, Lunn 38 and Rollaston an unbeaten 25 in their side's total.

Darius Potten-Ravenshad took 3-32, Rhodes 2-60 with a wicket a piece for Cope and Atkinson.

With only three matches remaining of their league season, Kenilworth are still with a chance of avoiding the drop.
