Kenilworth slumped to a seven-wicket defeat at the hands of nearby Berkswell as they dropped to sixth in the Warwickshire County Cricket League division two.
Having won the toss, Kenilworth batted first in the sun at Warwick Road, but were reduced to 43 for three early on as the conditions proved tricky.
However, a 50-run partnership between Sonu Kumar and Henry Curran (15) saw Kenilworth back on track towards a competitive total as Kumar was dismissed for a gritty 45.
Wickets then once again fell regularly, despite some lower order resistance as Adam Huxford (27) and Matt Casey (15) pulled Kenilworth to a defendable total of 149 all out in the 49th over.
Wayward early bowling from Kenilworth though helped Berkswell in their chase, as hopes of early wickets were short lived.
Bowling in tandem, Connor Shingler and Darius Potten-Ravenshad slowed the runs and built pressure in the middle overs, with the visitors reaching 113.
But it took 35 overs before Matt Casey struck for the hosts first wicket.
The hosts striking again in the 37th and 38th over before Berkswell completed their chase 150 for three in the 43rd over.
Casey finishing with 2-21, Quinn Bungard the other wicket taker.
