Step forward for new Kenilworth Tesco Express
By James Smith 4th Oct 2026
Council planners have handed a boost to plans for a new Tesco express in Kenilworth.
Warwick District Council has granted permission for new signage at the unit on Albion Street.
Currently the shop is a One Stop, but it is set to be rebranded.
Nub News understands the change is to come later this year, and a short closure is expected while the unit is rebranded.
Dates for the change-over are yet to be confirmed.
One Stop has been owned by Tesco since 2003.
Kenilworth already has a Tesco Express at Leyes Lane.
Signing off on the makeover for Albion Street, a council report said: "The fascia signs to the front and side elevation are to be trough lit like the former signage.
"The proposed vinyls are considered of an acceptable design.
"I am satisfied that the signage is of an acceptable design and scale and results in no additional harm to the visual or residential amenities of the area."
While the planning application has been approved, an application to alter the existing limits on selling alcohol at the shop has also been submitted to the district council.
