Kenilworth Tennis, Squash & Croquet Club marked its 60th anniversary at Crackley Lane with a day of celebrations on Saturday (September 30).

Mayor of Kenilworth Cllr Alix Dearing was in attendance to present awards and join in the fun, as the club marked the significant milestone.

Entertainment included a cupcake competition, a tombola, guess the number of balls in a box, ball in the bucket competition with coconut prizes, an all day BBQ, tea and plenty of cakes, and an all-day bar.

The Diamond Jubilee Prize draw was held and winners have been notified.

The annual Junior tennis champs were also played, followed by casual tennis and padel, a croquet tour and finally a magician to round off the afternoons entertainment.

The weekend's celebration included a game of padel tennis on the new courts featuring local MP Sir Jeremy Wright and Kenilworth School and Sixth Form Headteacher Darren Nicholas on the Friday evening.

Having never played before, they were partnered by club president Jared Jones and marketing manager Frank Hurst.

They soon got the hang of it and the match, comprising best of three sets, quickly became very competitive!

The recently published book of the club's history also sold well over the weekend, so much so that the club has ordered another batch to be printed.

Anyone who would like a £3 copy of the booklet can contact Mel Jennings on 07968 236885.

"Bring on the next 60 years!" the club said.
