Tucked away in Leamington's Regent Place is We Love Pizza, a family run independent restaurant - full of flavour.

Along with many other businesses, the pizzeria was hit by the pandemic and flipped to doing deliveries only in September 2020 - just two months after opening.

But following a steady few years, owners Jose and Geanina have thrown open their doors to welcome back diners once again.

Split across three themed eating areas decorated by local muralist Gemma Grao, this quirky little eatery offers a quiet and comfortable setting, matched only by its comforting food, which is clearly made with care.

We started our evening by sharing a portion of the calamari fritti and of the arancini ragu. Both were very generous portions, full of flavour and very fresh; a great way to start any meal.

Jose and Geanina say they pride themselves on delivering 'affordable quality' - that would sum up our starters very well.

The business also says it has a commitment to supporting local. This was evident from the drinks menu from which I selected a very refreshing pint of Windmill Hill Brewing Company's session IPA (which I previously eulogised about in another review).

Then came the stars of the show, We Love Pizza's fantastic stone baked pizzas. As soon as we saw them, we knew we were in for something special.

From the wide choice on offer, I plumped for the 'La Best Seller' topped with copious amounts of ham and olives (I swapped out the mushrooms).

Meanwhile my partner went for the 'Pollo Forza' - marinated chicken, mushrooms, peppers, sweetcorn and olives.

Both of course came with We Love Pizza's spectacular san marzano tomato sauce and fior di latte cheese - absolutely fantastic.

In fact, we were actually planning to have three courses, but the portions were so generous, we had to take home the rest of our pizzas!

Very sad as there was a very tempting Tiramisu I had my eye on.

For anyone not yet to try We Love Pizza, I can highly recommend. Great service, great food, comfortable setting, and all without breaking the bank!
