Kenilworth RFC's castle inspired kit comes home

Kenilworth Rugby Football Club's new 2026/27 shirt, inspired by Kenilworth Castle and its Elizabethan Garden, has returned to the place that inspired it for a squad photoshoot in the castle grounds.
With the support of English Heritage, the club was given early access to Kenilworth Castle on Saturday 3 October for the shoot.
Before the gates opened to the public, players, captains and coaches from the Men's and Women's senior squads were photographed among the castle's sandstone ruins and in its Elizabethan Garden.
The shirt's design includes elements that draw on the geometry of the Elizabethan Garden, recreated by English Heritage from a description of the garden Robert Dudley created for Elizabeth I's visit in 1575.
Photographing the kit there brought together two of the town's best known names: a rugby club with more than a century of history in Kenilworth, and a castle that has stood over the town for nearly 900 years.

The shoot was planned and delivered with GADD Marketing, the club's marketing partner.
Matt Price, director of rugby at Kenilworth RFC, said: "When the shirt was designed, the castle was always the starting point, so bringing it home felt like the obvious thing to do.
"We wanted imagery that shows Kenilworth RFC as it really is: ambitious, collaborative and rooted in the town, with a role in the community that goes well beyond what happens on the pitch. We're hugely grateful to the English Heritage team for opening the grounds early and making us so welcome.
"It was a special morning for the players, and we can't wait for people to see the results."
The new imagery will be rolled out across the club's website, social media, printed materials and events throughout the 2026/27 season.
